5Fun Read  Jul 17, 2008
Great book. Read the book and followed up by executing a multi-million dollar buyout deal. Fun stuff. Good read.

4practical and clear  Nov 26, 2007
Practical and clear and full of suggestions for avoiding potential pitfalls.

Only criticism: too short to cover the topic completely.

1Mediocre Read  Apr 15, 2006
I agree with Mr. Snoek of Canada's review. This book is useful to provide a casual reader with the steps involved in a management buyout.

The author provides an overly simplistic view of the process and demonstrates a lack of command of the details of actually completing a transaction. Among other things, the personalities of those involved must be assessed and this topic is ignored as are many of the salient financing components.

3Good for Beginners  Mar 23, 2006
Provides an interesting view of the MBO industry, but is less useful for those with a solid business / finance background. Overall, very useful if you're thinking of buying a company.

4Straightforward Guide  Aug 04, 2005
This book outlines the phases involved in a management buyout (MBO) primarily from the viewpoint of company management. A more thorough explanation of the financial modeling process would have been useful.
